The challenge

A manufacturing company in Treviso with 45 employees suffered a ransomware attack that encrypted production servers. The outage halted all operations for 3 days: no verified working backup, an unmonitored local NAS as the only coverage, and no EDR protection on endpoints. The downtime cost — in lost production, overtime hours and customer damage — exceeded tens of thousands of euros.

The solution

We completely redesigned the company's IT protection. Acronis Cyber Protect with immutable backup and 4-hour recovery points on all production servers: even in the worst scenario, at most half a day's work is lost. Acronis Advanced Security EDR activated on all Windows endpoints and servers: real-time behavioral detection, automatic blocking of suspicious processes before they can encrypt files. Perimeter firewall with OT/IT network segmentation to isolate production machinery from the administrative network. Quarterly documented and verified restore test.

Emails blacklisted. Clients hadn't been receiving invoices for months.

The challenge

An accounting firm with 12 users between Venice and Mestre discovered — almost by accident — that emails sent to clients were ending up in spam or being silently dropped. Electronic invoices sent by email weren't arriving, reminders weren't being read, professional communication was compromised. The cause: the domain was blacklisted due to missing SPF, DKIM and DMARC, and Microsoft 365 was configured without any email security measures. No MFA, no anti-phishing protection, no visibility into sent email status.

The solution

We performed a complete email configuration: correct SPF, DKIM and DMARC on the domain, delisting requests from all active blacklists, domain reputation monitoring. Migration to Microsoft 365 Business Premium with Exchange Online Protection and Defender for Office 365 active: advanced anti-phishing, anti-spoofing, real-time link and attachment protection. Mandatory MFA on all 12 user accounts with assisted rollout and training. Implementation of GDPR-aligned security policies: conditional access, data loss prevention on fiscal documents, audit logs activated. Teams and SharePoint for internal collaboration and secure document sharing with clients.

Unsegregated guest network, exposed PMS. WiFi 6 and separate VLANs in 2 days.

The challenge

A three-star hotel in Jesolo with 80 rooms had a completely flat guest network unsegregated from the management network: a guest with minimal technical skills could have reached the Property Management System (PMS) with all guest data. In peak season, with 200+ connected devices, WiFi regularly collapsed. The analog PBX was slow, internal calls to reception were dropped, and guest request management was entirely manual. No active network monitoring, problems only discovered when guests complained.

The solution

We completely rebuilt the network infrastructure with Ubiquiti WiFi 6 access points distributed throughout the hotel, designed to handle high device density without performance degradation. Separate VLAN architecture: guest network (isolated, with captive portal and per-room rate limiting), staff network (management system access), IoT network (TVs, locks, home automation) — each with independent security policies. The PMS is now accessible only from the staff VLAN with firewall in between. Installation of TVox VoIP PBX: reception, housekeeping, bar and front desk connected with digital extensions, integrated guest call management, unified directory. 24/7 infrastructure monitoring with proactive alerting.

35 sites, one phone system. Integrated with the ERP.

The challenge

A manufacturing multinational with 35 sites across Europe, Asia and the United States operated with disconnected local PBX systems. Each site had its own system, often legacy hardware, with no centralized call visibility. The custom ERP — the operational core — was completely disconnected from telephony: agents manually searched for customer data during calls, with high response times and no call history tracking.

The solution

We deployed 3CX in cloud-hosted mode on redundant infrastructure, with a unified DDI numbering plan across all 35 sites. We developed a custom connector between 3CX and the proprietary ERP: at the first ring, 3CX queries the ERP via API and presents the operator with the complete customer profile — open orders, purchase history, notes and ongoing cases. Every call is automatically logged in the ERP with duration, agent and notes. Custom routing rules ensure international calls always reach the right agent based on language, timezone and geographic area.

The challenge

A B2B services multinational, subject to the NIS2 Directive as an essential service operator, had received indications from its internal auditor to close within 12 months critical gaps in four areas: operational continuity, data protection, incident detection and staff training. Existing infrastructure had partial backups, no documented DR plan, endpoints without EDR protection and zero formal security training for employees.

The solution

We implemented Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud as the technical backbone of the NIS2 compliance plan, systematically covering all technical requirements of the directive. New site, geo-distributed datacenter. Live migration: zero downtime for clients.

The challenge

A company providing IT contract services to end clients (hosting, management applications, corporate VPNs) needed to open a second operating site and transfer the existing infrastructure without interrupting services. End clients had contractual SLAs with guaranteed uptime: any downtime would generate penalties and reputational damage. Existing infrastructure was on single-site Proxmox — a great starting point, but without geographic protection.

The solution

We designed and implemented a Proxmox stretched cluster across two geographically separate sites, with synchronous Ceph storage replicated between both sites. Every write to the primary datacenter is replicated in real time to the secondary site — guaranteed <5ms latency between sites. Migration of existing VMs happened live, one at a time, with no downtime: each VM was live-migrated into the stretched cluster during end clients' normal working hours. The result is an active-active infrastructure: in case of complete site failure, VMs automatically restart on the other site in less than 5 minutes.

The results

The challenge

An electronics trade company with 8 branches across Italy operated with a fragmented and non-standardized IT infrastructure: local physical servers in each site (of varying age and configuration), unstable VPNs between branches, on-premise ERP without verified backup in 3 sites, and a single-person internal IT department that couldn't manage everything. Each branch was essentially an island: local failure = branch down.

The solution

We designed and migrated the entire IT infrastructure to Kubee cloud on OVH with 3 independent availability zones. Centralized ERP on HA database cluster with automatic failover, accessible from all 8 branches via managed site-to-site VPN (configuration, monitoring and maintenance included). Application servers, file servers and warehouse management systems virtualized on Proxmox with daily immutable Acronis backup and active DR. Each branch eliminated local servers: just a managed switch and firewall that we monitor 24/7.

The results

Emergency migration in 72 hours. From zero protection to active MDR.

The challenge

An Italian premium footwear multinational contacted us in an emergency state: the cloud provider in use for years had degraded infrastructure, non-functional backups (discovered only after a failed restore attempt), corporate endpoints with no EDR protection and performance completely inadequate for management systems. The discovery of backup failure — with critical design, production and customer data potentially at risk — had created an internal crisis. Immediate action was required.

The solution

We activated the emergency migration protocol: complete infrastructure assessment in 4 hours, migration planning in the next 8 hours. We provisioned a new Proxmox cluster on dedicated cloud and started VM-by-VM migration prioritizing critical systems — ERP, design and production databases, communication systems. In parallel, immediate activation of Acronis Advanced Security with MDR for all endpoints: active protection within 6 hours of project start, before migration was even complete. Immutable backups configured and first verified backup completed within 24 hours. Complete migration in 72 hours, with active disaster recovery on secondary site.
